Driveway Pressure Washing in Derby: Bringing a Tired Driveway Back to Life

A clean driveway can completely transform the appearance of a property, and that's exactly what we achieved on one of our recent projects in Derby.

The customer initially contacted us for a professional driveway clean, but once we arrived on site, they asked if we could also tackle some additional areas around the property. The Pressure Washing and Cleaning Process

Over the course of the job, we used professional pressure washing equipment to safely remove years of built-up dirt, moss, algae, and grime from the block paving. These contaminants not only make driveways look tired but can also become slippery and hazardous, particularly during wet weather.

As we worked, the original colour of the paving revealed again with striking difference, leaving the driveway looking cleaner, brighter, and far more welcoming.

It took us and another local Derby company to get this done in 2.5 days. Even with our experience we found a way to speed up the process with exceptional results. Against normal procedure, we applied chemical first to cut through the amount of organic growth. By getting ahead on chemical we could give it dwell time to work as we were pressure washing previous section. This meant our water stream was cutting through dirt and grime even quicker leaving immediate perfect results. Even with this it took 5 man days to complete due to the sheer area the driveway and patios took up.

One patio was Indian slate, a particularly fragile surface that etches quickly. After testing from the most gentle cleaning techniques and working up in strength we found we could gently clean the surface with a surface cleaner and finishing up resetting the surface to avoid etching using a wide angle nozzle. The home owners were very happy with the result of this.

The initial thoughts of the homeowners was that they would get the gardener to sand the driveway but they asked us to return and it took an entire day to sand this driveway. We were then asked for extra work with cleaning a greenhouse and a conservatory roof. There was a request for a small area to have tarmac restoration but this area went down a different route in the end that didn't require our services.

The Results

The difference between the before and after was remarkable. What had been a dull, weathered surface was restored to a clean, fresh finish that instantly improved the property's kerb appeal.

Regular exterior cleaning doesn't just improve appearance—it also helps extend the lifespan of paving by preventing the build-up of damaging organic growth.
